Private Cottage by the River

I have nothing but positive things to say about Rob's communication, but the experience was way below expectations: 1) The pictures did not come close to depicting actual quality. Felt very unrepresentative. 2) There was a strong smell upon entering the cabin. My wife thought it smelled like a hamster cage, I thought it smelled like spoiled meat. We almost immediately turned tail and looked for other accommodations, but ... 3) ... it's pretty far from anything but fast food. We drove up to Redding for lunch and found ourselves wishing we just stayed there. 4) The cabin was very cheaply finished, even if clean on the surface. I wouldn't typically call this out, but given the price point it's worth noting. It was priced at least $100 more than it's worth. 5) The kicker was no coffee in the morning. Didn't bother to check cabinets in the evening, so had to make a run to 7-Eleven given how close the nearest Starbucks was. I'm sure Rob's great, but wish I had this honest review.

Great place to stay, the house had enough room and comfy bed. Easy access off the I-5. Right next to the river, which made for some beautiful views. The hot tub was an added bonus. Host communication was great. Would recommend.

This little cottage is wonderful! It was perfect for me and my dogs (who also immensely enjoyed the stay). The river is beautiful and there’s lots of birds which I loved! I inadvertently locked myself out but was right back in thanks to Rob 😊 who is very kind! The bed is wonderful! I’ll definitely stay again!

Great little place to stay for the night. The hot tube was not very hot and the door was opened when I arrived. I think the place could use some simple items such as a bottle opener and can opener. Overall it was a great experience

I had a wonderful stay. I hope to use this place as my go to when I visit the area. It was very comfortable, safe,secure and great location. The grounds are beautiful and serene. Rob and his team were very helpful and communicated quickly. They even provided flexibility for check out. Great people and great place. I Highly recommend!

TLDR: The cottage was a charming place to stay for 2 people. We'd stay there again. We found the cottage as expected and questions were promptly responded to. The living room and kitchen area was spacious and comfortable. Bedroom was clean with a comfortable queen size bed and its own air conditioner. The in-unit washer/dryer was handy. Dog friendly for us was a priority and having a gated yard was a plus. The pool and hot tub were well maintained. The large lawn made sitting down by the river very pleasant and a great place for star gazing. Restaurants, Costco, National Parks were close. This was an ideal location for our day trips. We would stay here again.

Very pretty home nestled along the Sacramento River…was able to book on a last-minute emergency road trip to Oregon, and it worked out perfectly.

Had a great stay in the cottage. Looking forward to fishing off the dock again in the future. Thanks for being great hosts!

Very cute cottage! My husband and I booked it for our anniversary celebration. The place is very cozy and beautifully decorated. You will feel right at home. The river is in the backyard which was so beautiful and peaceful. There is a house they also rent that is on the same property but different building, and the spa and pool are shared. The hosts are very proactive and responsive. They gave clear directions and made the whole experience pleasant.

A perfect place to get away. Full kitchen, great bed/ mattress, hot tub and pool were perfect. Located right along a river. Great location, quiet, peaceful, and the hosts were proactively responsive during our stay. Would recommend this stay to anyone.

The cottage is spacious and clean with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. The grounds are beautiful right on the Sacramento River. Absolutely lovely!

Great place while travelling through! Pool and river are great amenities, especially when dealing with a heat wave.

Beautiful place all around. I had to leave after 2 hours because the fragrances made me break out in hives and wheezing, but that’s not their fault. The yard is especially lovely and pool is great.

Overall wouldnt stay again, unclear communication , and unresponsive duev to being out of country. Hot tub was unusable due to it being like warm and unable to change due to security settings. Had to wait close to half hour for air bnb to contact hosts to get into house.

Was passing through on our way to Oregon and needed a place to stay since we had a little dog with us who needed a bit more room than a hotel. The cottage was very cute, clean, and comfortable!! Easy to communicate with the hosts and get into the house & had simple check out rules. We didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor area since we just stayed for a night but the lot was very pretty as well.

Our experience was more than perfect! The place is beautiful and the surroundings just amazing. The lake, the river, the town and the people were really nice. We will come back soon to this peaceful and lovely cottage. Thanks Rob and Allison for helping me create a beautiful memory for my son’s birthday!!!

Love the place on inside lots of space there was games to play. Was able to relax and watch some movies. The outside was amazing as well I got to enjoy seeing the river.

Great clean little place!

Rob and Allison's place was spotlessly clean and looked better than the photos. They and their cohosts were super responsive at answering my questions for a last minute booking. We met Carrie at the end of our stay who was very friendly and welcoming. We didn't have time to explore the area, but the back of the house has a nice view of the river.

Host were very responsive and were helpful.

Absolutely beautiful little cottage in the river. We enjoyed the outdoor games and the hot tub is great quality. Felt like being in an oasis. I hope to be able to return again soon.

Nice people but the Airbnb wasn't for us. Only religious books available, religious wifi password, bible verses inside the coffee cups, metal cross on the wall. Claimed to have its own private hot tub, did not, only one next door at their other rental property. Thin, older towels and only one thin comforter. Strange smell. The location was good but right next to a house with annoying windchimes next to our bedroom window. All in all, it felt like staying with a religious relative, not a professional Airbnb.

Property was beautiful only 1 disappointment did not have a good fishing experience no catch and didn't even see 1 fish jump (could be due to the weather tho)

This is a prime location, walking distance to the Ghia restaurant. There is lots of potential for the small space and the Hosts are great.

Very clean and comfortable, especially the bed. The deck by the river has a propane fire pit to stay warm at night. Nice place with very large back yard.

I had a nice stay there! The hot tub was much closer to the other house where there were other people staying so I didn't end up using it. Otherwise it was lovely.

This little cottage was perfect for my husband and i to get away. The hot tub was super fun !

I live this property so much, this is my second time here. And I booked the bug house for a couple more days. Rob and Allison are super hosts. Very helpful and responsive. I try to stay here whenever I’m in this area. Great hosts.

Beautiful stay peaceful in and out really would like to enjoy the pool and hot tub but it was a little too cold for that. Next time I’ll definitely stay here me and my family had a beautiful time & great visiting

We had a great stay. The waterfront view is beautiful. Another highlight is the large yard that our dog really enjoyed.

We had a great stay. The house is wonderful. The hot tub was enjoyable. Everything you need is there. Beds comfortable. Very homey vibe. We enjoyed our stay a lot. It’s a little pricey for the winter stay but I could see the value in the summer. Great stay.
